Building Community. Building Resilience.
The Wayzata Education Fund helped the district bring back an important tradition of connecting middle school students to nature, and each other, through an outdoor learning experience.
OUTDOOR LEARNING IN ACTION.
East 6th Grade Trips September 15th & 16th
West 6th Grade Trips October 27th & 28th
Central 6th Grade Trips December 8, 9, 10 & 11th
Wayzata 6th graders enjoyed their extended day trips to the Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center in Lanesboro, MN, where they took part in hands-on, screens-off learning - including a high ropes course, shelter building, fire making and a hike along the Root River.
This shared experience, helps students connect with nature and each other as they transition into middle school.
The Wayzata Education Fund financially supported these trips with a $50,000 donation to Wayzata Public Schools. These funds were used to cover all transportation and student scholarship costs associated with an extended day field trip for 1100+ students!
